What's Summer Intensive?

Updated: Jul 19, 2023

So, what exactly is a summer dance intensive, and why participate? Every summer, Studio Pulse provides Anchorage dancers an opportunity to spend their days fully immersed in dance. From July 24-28, attendees study a range of dance styles while learning anatomy, injury prevention, and important insights into the field of dance.

Summer intensive yields many worthwhile benefits. Under the guidance of highly skilled, professional guest artists, students gain strength, improve technique, and increase flexibility in just one week. Students create meaningful connections with peers and interact with positive adult role models in a screen time-free environment. This hub of fun, structured training and creative energy creates the ideal setting to grow as artist and athlete. It's rigorous. It's gratifying. And it's a FUN way to stay active!

If you or someone you know is a dance enthusiast who’d love to work with new instructors, experience new styles, condition for fall dance classes, and cultivate a deeper connection with a passionate dance community, we welcome you to summer intensive! Advance registration is required. For your convenience, online registration is available here. In-person payment with cash or check is appreciated (thank you for helping our small business avoid large credit card fees) during summer operating hours: Mon-Fri, 4:00-7:00pm. Intensive schedule is listed below. Beg/Int students (ages 9+ with experience) start the week with Schedule B. Int/Adv students (ages 13+) start the week with Schedule A.

To bring daily: A yoga mat, healthy sack lunch, healthy snacks, water bottle, and any dance gear or shoes needed.
